LLM cost per customer
The model/token spend attributable to one customer over a period.
Sum of input and output token costs (plus any tools) generated by a single customer in a month. It's the variable cost side of gross margin per customer, and it's what flat-priced AI SaaS dashboards almost never show you.
Why it matters
Without it you can't compute true margin or set sustainable pricing. It's also the first thing to look at when your model bill spikes and you don't know which customers caused it.
Example
A customer sending 600k input and 200k output tokens through GPT-4o in a month costs about $3.50 in LLM spend — before any retrieval or tool calls are added on top.
